Alexander FitzJames is a client of Hargreaves Lansdown, through which he holds his investment accounts and investments. He maintains both a Stocks and Shares ISA and a Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) with Hargreaves Lansdown.

Within his Stocks and Shares ISA, Alexander holds units in the FTSE All-World UCITS ETF USD (Accumulation). The ETF is the investment he holds within the ISA, while the securities contained within the ETF's portfolio constitute its underlying assets. Alexander therefore has indirect exposure to the companies represented within the fund rather than directly holding their individual shares.

Within his SIPP, Alexander holds units in both the FTSE All-World UCITS ETF USD (Accumulation) and the HSBC UK Gilt Index Fund, Class S (Accumulation). The former provides indirect exposure to a diversified portfolio of global equities, while the latter provides indirect exposure to a portfolio of UK government gilts.

Alexander's investments are therefore held through Hargreaves Lansdown investment accounts, with his direct holdings consisting of units in the respective collective investment funds. The individual equities and government gilts held by those funds are underlying assets and are not securities held directly by Alexander in his own name.
