Alexander is in the process of petitioning for a grant of arms from the Republic of Malta via the Office of the Chief Herald of Arms of Malta, Dr. Charles Gauci. Once granted, it entitles his descendants to legally bear his heraldic achievement (left).

Additionally, he is in contact with the College of Arms (A Royal Corporation) in London regarding a drafting of a family tree showing his descent from his 6x great-grandfather Andrew Buchan (1777-1847), a clansman hailing from Clan Buchan.
